5 Secrets To New Year Resolution Success

Feeling a little bored with your new year resolution list already? You may be lacking the motivation and focus to put your goals into action. That’s why we have put together these empowering tips that will bring your goals to life. 

1. Get Creative

Make your goals come to life with a dream/vision board. This will help you to visualise your goals on a daily basis. According to research, using visualisation works because neurons in our brain interpret imagery as equivalent to real-life action. When we use visual images, the brain creates an impulse that tells our neurons to perform the action.  

Vision boards not your thing? Then get a journal and jot down your goals. Use colour, pictures, sticky notes, what ever gets you excited and as long as you get the mental image of success very clear in your mind daily.

2. Break It Down & Be Specific

If your new year resolution is “I want to look younger” or “I want to get fit”, then this is not specific enough to get results. 

You need to ask yourself these 4 important questions: 

  1.  “What will be the proof that I have reached my goal?”  
  2.  “What would it mean if I was to achieve my goal?”
  3.  “What will I do to make my goal a reality?”
  4.  “When do I want to achieve my goal by?”

Answering these questions will help you be more specific, and give you motivation and a plan of action of how you’ll achieve tangible results.

3. Keep It Simple

Failure to achieve your goals repeatedly can often be down to trying to do too much. Your valuable time, energy and interest can only stretch so far. By narrowing your goals down to only 2 or 3 at a time you’ll make sure your effort is super focused. 

You can apply this to your anti-ageing routine too.
